THEME: FOCUS ON THE AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITY NOT ON THE DISTRACTIONS

Greetings beloved people of God. I welcome you to "My Catholic Homily Digest". This beautiful Thursday morning, I want to reflect with us on the theme " Focus on the Available Opportunity not on the Distractions". Beloved, a wise sage once said, "anyday you wake up and discovers that all your problems are gone, then know that you are dead". This means that, as long as we are alive, problems are sure to abound, for Christ even said to us that, 'in the world you will have trouble...' (John 16:33). So, troubles, problems, sufferings, sickness and all other kinds of distractions are a necessary part of our lives and existence. So, what are we supposed to do in the face of this enigmatic reality? Allow the overwhelming problems to paralyze us or trailblaze it and emerge victorious. I think the latter is preferable.

Dear friends in Christ, listen to what Jesus said to us in the Gospel reading of today: "Yes, a time is coming when your enemies will raise fortifications all round you, when they will encircle you and hem you in on every side; they will dash you and the children inside your walls to the ground...all because you did not recognise your opportunity when God offered it", (Luke 19:42-44). Child of God, no matter the circumstances you are passing through this moment, no matter the financial crunch you are soaked in, no matter the hunger strike you complain of, no matter the injustice, social, political and economic imbalance you feel presently, I want you to keep your gaze fixed on Christ, the immolated lamb of God, who alone can break you free from whatever problem you face.

Beloved, as the year gradually draws to a close, and it seems as if this is a cursed or wasted year, I invite you to look around you and see the droplets of opportunities that God has littered your life with and grab them. Do not allow the tears of pains in your eyes, or the stormy wind, or the sandy storm, or the torrential rains to prevent you from seeing the solid ground just beneath your feet. I pray God to convert all your opportunities in to testimonies...God bless you

#End Sars,

#End Political Oppression

#End Bad Governance.

Oh that today you would listen to his voice harden not your hearts (Ps.95:7-8).

LET US PRAY : Lord Jesus, help me with your grace not to focus on the distractions before me as much as I can see and utilise the opportunities before me....Amen
