THEME: BEWARE OF THAT 'BROTHER AND SISTER' IN CHRIST

Greetings beloved people of God. I welcome you to "My Catholic Homily Digest". As the working days of this week gradually come to a halt, I want to reflect with us on the theme " Beware of that 'Brother and Sister' in Christ". Beloved, we all know that the Church is a place of encounter with God and to carry out religious activities nonetheless, it is also a gathering of saints and sinners (Cf. Mt 13, 24-30). Thus, it is in the Church that you can find all calibre  and sort of people, who come to Church bearing different motivations and intentions. The saints come in to listen to the words of preaching, to repent and ask mercy for their sins, to offer God a sincere worship and to seek His face and protection in their lives. The sinners and depraved on the other hand come in to deceive others with lies and fake prophecies, to extort the vulnerable and pious worshippers, to distract others, to seduce others, to look for wife or husband, to make high profile contacts, to make a public show of religiosity, to show how prayerful or melodious their voice is, to buy or sell, and to warm and fill the empty spaces.  So, beware lest your fall prey to these category of so called 'brother and sister' in Christ, these so called men and women of God, these so called pastors and unfortunately some priests whom Christ will certainly chase out of His temple with whip.

In the Gospel reading of today, we read that for the first time, Christ applied physical force, driving away with whip, those who desecrated the temple, turning it into everything else but a place of prayer and encounter with God. Does it not also surprise you that even the chief priests, the elders and leading officials of the temple were not spared by Jesus? These goes a long way to show that not everyone who appears to be religious or carries the matters of the temple in their head is truly sincere worshipper. Some are merely parasite, feasting on the vulnerable and poor of God. And like the first reading, Rev.10:8-11, nartated, many of these brother, sister, pastor, evangelist and priest, usually have sweet and honey coated mouth and appearance, but bitter and ravenous on the inside when we experience them.

Beloved, in truth, the Church as the house of God should and ought to be a place of prayer, where the word of God ought to be preached undiluted and where one ought to come and find solace, comfort and peace. So, if you have motives other than these, prepare to be chased out by the threshing whip of Christ. God bless you.

#End Sars,

#End Political Oppression

#End Bad Governance

# End Religious deception.

Oh that today you would listen to his voice harden not your hearts (Ps.95:7-8).

LET US PRAY : Lord Jesus, you open wide the door of your house and you bid us to enter confidently that we may worship you in spirit and truth. purge me of all forms of religious deceptions and eye service...Amen

 HAPPY WEEKEND BELOVED FRIENDS
