THEME: DO NOT JEOPARDIZE YOUR HOPE OF IMMORTALITY

Greetings beloved people of God. I welcome you to "My Catholic Homily Digest". Today is the memorial of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This feast celebrates Mary's dedication of herself to God from her infancy, inspired by the Holy Spirit, whose grace had filled her since her Immaculate Conception, which remained with her till her domition and Assumption into heaven, where she reigns as the immortal Queen and Mother of God. Thus, as we celebrate this feast today, I want to reflect with us on the theme, " Do not Jeopardize your Hope of Immortality ". Beloved, one of the remarkable qualities about our existence as human persons is the fact that we are immortals. This means that our souls have the possibility of living forever if only we keep to the rules of engagement as dictated by God. Hear me, it is the earnest desire of our God that none of us dies, but that we should live. (Note that by death here, I mean final damnation and destruction in Hell).

In the Gospel reading of today, Christ cautioned and corrected the Sadducees for their unbelief in the reality of resurrection and immortality. The Sadducees are a class of Jews, who did not believe in immortality, nor in angels or evil spirits. Their religion was literally grounded in an earthly image of heaven. Unfortunately dear friends, many of us who claim to be Christians, live and operate with the mindset of the Sadducees. We make light of spiritual realities, we operate as carnal men and women, we live recklessly without minding that we are jeopardising our hope of immortality. We sometimes even laugh at those who try to live a just life, thinking them stupid for allowing people to ride on their intelligence.

Child of God, remember that like the Blessed Virgin Mary, you too were presented and dedicated to God, and on that day, God signed you with His seal of immortality, a mark of ownership. So, do not allow the Devil to steal this precious gift of immortality that God has blessed you with. Thus, St. Peter Alcantara opined that "God's design is to draw our souls to Himself; while the devil's design is to withdraw it away from God. Our Lord never inspires the soul with fears which would separate it from Him; and the devil never suggests anything that would bring the soul to God". So beloved friends, shun the Devil today and struggle to live righteously as someone who has a great price in store. God bless you

#End Sars,

#End Political Oppression

#End Bad Governance.

Oh that today you would listen to his voice harden not your hearts (Ps.95:7-8).

LET US PRAY : Lord Jesus, help me to live my life in such a way that I may not lose the price of Immortality....Amen
