THEME: TAKE HEED, THESE ARE NOT NORMAL DAYS
Greetings beloved people of God. I welcome you to "My Catholic Homily Digest". Today, I want to reflect with us on the theme " Take Heed, These are not Normal Days". Beloved, for many persons, this year 2020, is just an extra ordinary kind of year. It is a year in which most people have recorded the highest number of misfortune, tragedy, bereavement, and lose. On a Global level, it is a year in which the world's economy, health sector, transport sector, and several other sectors were very much adversely affected if not crumbled. Thus, the prayer of most surviving persons now would be for the year 2020 to quickly come to an end.
Child of God, if we consider the events of this year, through the spiritual glass prism of the two readings of today, we will realise that these are not events of a normal days and that almost all of them are pointing towards a common direction. Namely the ENDTIME. Hence it is a call that we should tighten our belt, that we should be serious with our lives and the things of God, that we should take stock of our activities, that we should be prepared and ready to welcome Christ, whose Parousia (second coming), is very much imminent (Cf. Isaiah 65:17; Rev. 21:1). Beloved, just like Jesus told us in the Gospel reading of today, when we see these things begin to take place, let us stand erect, hold our heads high, keep our hands clean, and purify our hearts because our liberation is very near at hand. I pray God to give us the spiritual insights to understand the events of the present time, and get prepared each day to meet Him whenever and wherever He meets us. God bless you.
