THEME:  YOU SHALL PARTAKE IN THE GLORIES OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Greetings beloved people of God. I welcome you to "My Catholic Homily Digest". On this fifth day of December, I wish to reflect with us on the theme: " You shall partake in the Glories of the Kingdom". Beloved, what is your understanding of the Kingdom of God? When you pray the Lord's prayer and say: ' may your kingdom come', what do you really mean, what do you have in mind? For many of us, the kingdom of God is all about goodies, merriment and enjoyment. This is a reductionistic, banal and carnal understanding of the kingdom of God. In Romans 14:17, Scriptures made us to understand that "the kingdom of God is not all about food and drink, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. This is what is meant when Bible says in Matt. 6:33: Seek first the kingdom of God and every other thing will be added unto you. Beloved, the kingdom of God is filled with every kind of good treasures and realities, but to unlock the key to this kingdom, we must practice a Christ-like righteousness.

Beloved, in the Gospel of today, Jesus instructed his disciples to go and freely preach the imminent coming of the kingdom of God. Along side with this preaching, they should cure the sick, bless the poor, help the week, bring relief to the depressed and forgiveness of sins to the sorrowful sinner. The coming of the kingdom of God is sequel to the coming of Christ and the reign of the kingdom of God is the reign of Christ. So, if you want to enjoy the glories of the Kingdom, if you want to be cured of your sickness, to be blessed in your finances, to be elevated in your office, to be favoured among men, to be protected by divine grace, then accept to live a righteous life, learn to be at peace with each other, forgive those who offend you and be joyful always and in all circumstances, and God will visit you with the glories of his kingdom this season.

Do not be afraid for you will be remembered in my priestly prayers throughout this month. God bless you

Oh that today you would listen to his voice harden not your hearts (Ps.95:7-8)

LET US PRAY :Lord Jesus, give me the boldness to live and proclaim the message of the kingdom of heaven and to be a prophetic sign of that kingdom in my generation....

The Lord be with you....... and with your Spirit.

May Almighty God bless you the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit......Amen

 HAPPY WEEKEND BELOVED FRIEND
